A bird snare is a type of trap used in the Hunter skill. The bird snaring technique is used to catch several birds. With the required Hunter level, the player may set up a bird snare and wait for a bird to approach the trap. All Osrs House Portals pages are listed here with their site stats and other details. This week sees the arrival of the first ever Old School RuneScape League!

Old School RuneScape Leagues have arrived! Leagues is a brand new game mode. Each League offers a different spin on the game, challenging your knowledge and skill in ways you never imagined!
In this first League, The Twisted League, you’ll be playing as an Ironman restricted to Kebos & Kourend. As with future Leagues, you'll be racing to complete tasks and score points in order to unlock Relics and rewards that you can show off in the main game!
To start your Twisted League adventure, simply log into any of the worlds marked in green on the world selector page. Upon your first login into Twisted League, you will start off on Tutorial Island with fresh stats. Completing (or skipping) Tutorial Island will land you at the Kourend Castle Courtyard where you will meet the League Tutor and begin the challenge for real.
Following the release of the Twisted League we have made a few alterations to the content based on your feedback. Please note these changes will only affect the Twisted League worlds, not the main game.
Changelist:
  • The sandworms at Port Piscarilius have had their respawn timer reduced
  • Players can now unlock Slayer boss tasks from Konar
  • Bakery stalls now show the updated version when empty
  • We've fixed an issue where random events would sometimes fail to return users to the spot they came from and instead teleport them to Kourend Courtyard, thinking that they had escaped Kourend and Kebos
We’d also like to take this time to clarify why the Claim Points button exists and why it’s not possible to have points be claimed automatically upon task completion. Every time a player clicks the Claim Points button, it sends a request to move the points over to the main game where they can be redeemed for rewards later. We chose to make this system manual to reduce strain on the server.
Read on for more information about the Twisted League.
Words from the Team
Words from the Team

'My role in the development of the Twisted League was focused around the design of Relics, tasks and rewards. This involved doing research into training methods on Zeah and what it would be like to be locked to Kourend and Kebos as an Ironman.
I also worked on implementing core mechanics such as preventing accounts from leaving the designated zone, unlocking key quests, and adding all the League-specific content changes to the Information interface.
Designing the Relics was the most fun. We really wanted players to feel the effect of their new power, for it to be fun and, most importantly, for it to be a hard choice. I feel confident that as a team we've achieved those goals. I look forward to seeing the reactions from players as they unlock each subsequent tier of Relics to see all the crazy power ups they have to choose from. Even now, during the week leading up to Leagues, I have changed my mind at least three times on which starting Relic I want to go with. I look forward to revealing the stats for which Relics have been selected the most for each tier.'
-Mod Husky (@JagexHusky)
'I started my work on Leagues by discussing the Relic design with Mod Husky and helping out in the overall core design process, including the side panel that can be opened at any time to check your progress. I also provided feedback and aided the balancing process to get the game pace and general flow of Leagues right. I am very happy with the end result and I cannot wait to play it together with all of you!'
-Mod Flippy (@JagexFlippy)
'My role in the development team on the Twisted League has been less focused on the Twisted League itself, and more on the concept of Leagues as a whole, looking at the systems that support it and make it all possible. These generic systems are the things that will make future Leagues possible with significantly less work than the Twisted League, as the same foundations can be used with different sets of tasks to complete and different Relics available.'
-Mod Lenny (@JagexLenny)
'My role in the Twisted League was primarily the development of the system that allows League Points and rewards to be transferred into the main game. I also did general HiScore administration that allows players’ League Points to be recorded on the HiScores page so players can see where they rank as they progress through the League. I also made the engine changes for the in-game world selector page that allows players to log into the League worlds.'
-Mod Boko (@JagexBoko)
'My job was to break as much stuff as possible so the developers could make sure it was all fixed before the release date. I spent the early days of Leagues testing trying to escape Zeah by using the PoH, spellbooks, jewellery teleports, and even random events.
I remember Mod Husky tried to force players to complete the Leagues Tutor dialogue and every time I logged in with a new account that had not completed it, I was teleported across the map and forced to complete the dialogue over and over again no matter what I did. I had to complete it about five hundred times.'
-Mod Curse (@JagexCurse)
'My role for the Leagues project was to create a variety of cosmetic rewards that could be obtained from the mode. I was very excited to start making them as a few of them had been heavily requested before and it’s always great to see player suggestions make it into the game. Although one of my favourite rewards failed the poll, there was still quite a demand for it and I’d imagine these will get requested again in the future, perhaps for a different type of update.
Being an Ironman player myself, I took the opportunity to playtest a little of the early-game of the Twisted Leagues and it was incredibly fun - if you’ve never played an Ironman account but have been interested in the past, this is the best way to get into it!'
-Mod West (@JagexWest)

Tasks
Tasks

Tasks are a collection of goals and achievements which can be completed in the League. These tasks can be for various activities such as skilling, obtaining drops, killing creatures, completing quests or even playing minigames. Completion of a task will award a number of League Points which can be used to unlock Relics and other rewards. Tasks will range from Easy to Master tiers where Easy tasks are considered simple and Master tasks are considered extremely difficult.

Below is a list of League Points you can obtain when completing tiered tasks:

League Points
  • Easy: 10 Points
  • Medium: 50 Points
  • Hard: 100 Points
  • Elite: 250 Points
  • Master: 500 Points

Want to see the full task list? Check the Twisted League Task Interface in-game or head over to the Official Wiki.
Relics
Relics

Relics are a Leagues specific source of buffs which are unlocked with League Points. Relics can be boosts to XP, buffs to combat prowess, additional luck when obtaining drops, or even buffs to specific skilling activities. Upon leaving Tutorial Island you will be presented with three Relics to choose from without the need for points. This will allow you to choose which strategy you want to use in the League and give you incentive to strive for the next set of Relic options. Once you choose a Relic you will be locked in and will no longer be able to change your Relic selection for that tier. Choose wisely.
Below are the first three Relics you will get to choose from when entering Kourend and Kebos:

Abyssal Accumulator
  • You have an 85% chance to not consume any ammunition fired (chinchompas excluded)
  • You have an 85% chance to not consume runes when casting any spell

Endless Endurance
  • Your run energy will never drain whilst running
  • Your hitpoints restores 4 times as quickly

Dark Altar Devotion
  • Bones dropped by creatures are automatically buried and award 4x XP, this stacks with any existing XP multipliers
  • Ensouled heads now drop 2 at a time
  • Your prayer drains at 1/2 the speed

As you unlock more Relic options, the buffs become more powerful. To unlock them you will have to continue gaining League Points by completing tasks. Below is a list of the points needed to unlock the different Relic tiers:
  • 2nd Relic: 400
  • 3rd Relic: 1,200
  • 4th Relic: 2,500
  • 5th Relic: 5,000

HiScores and League Firsts
HiScores and League Firsts

It will take grit, strategy and perseverance to reach the top of our brand new HiScores table. Points are given for completing tasks, with harder tasks offering more points. The more tasks you complete, the higher you’ll climb!

If you finish at the top of the leaderboard you will be crowned Champion of the Twisted League.

On top of having a new HiScores page we have also introduced League Firsts. League Firsts are awarded to the player who is first to complete the League’s most impressive feats. These will be represented in-game on the noticeboard next to the League Tutor. There will be no extra rewards or points for achieving a League First, although pride is its own reward!

  • We've added more ploughs to the Hosidius field for more efficient ploughage.
  • The Bounty Crate is once again available to purchase, but its price has increased to 7 points, and players must have level 50 combat to buy it. The same combat level requirement applies to purchasing dragon weapons from the new store. Though players spending down their old points in the old version of the store can continue buying the dragon weapons without this requirement.
  • In order to address concern and slow down the immediate injection of the items from Bounty Crates into the game, on launch, players with enough points will be able to purchase a maximum of 5 Bounty Crates, after that, every kill will increase the amount of crates they can purchase by another 5. Players will be able to see how many more crates they can purchase by using the value option on the crate inside the new Bounty Hunter store.
  • In various Bounty Tasks, you are asked to deal the finishing blow with a specific combat style. These tasks are now better able to detect that you've done so if the finishing blow is part of a flurry of other hits that you're dealing at the same time.
  • The Bounty Hunter minigame now requires a player to have 48 hours of in-game time, up from the previous 25.
  • Bounty Hunter now waits slightly longer after your previous target kill before assigning you a new one, since players had concerns of not getting enough time after a kill.
  • The new Bounty Hunter reward shop now sells the rune pouch for 15 points rather than 75.
  • The new Bounty Hunter reward shop now sells the looting bag for 2 points rather than 4.
  • The duration permitted for a Bounty Hunter task is now 20 minutes, reduced from 30.

View from Land's End

Land's End (Cornish: Penn an Wlas or Pedn an Wlas) is the most southwesterly point in Britain and part of Cornwall in the South West.

It is not a town or village but rather a former small holding which is well known for being the starting/ending point for the Land's End to John o'Groats journey. It is now overdeveloped with a commercial 'tourist trap' visitor complex including arcades, attractions and shops.

Understand[edit]

Land's End's main represents both the starting and ending points of the longest journey in Great Britain, Land's End to John O'Groats. Consequently, it is known as 'The First and Last', due to its position at the extremity of the UK. It is an atmospheric, dramatic piece of coastline steeped in history and romance - or at least would be, without the commercialised tourist facilities.

Local people utterly detest the tourist attraction there, it is unwise to mention it to anyone, and for this reason locals are likely to advise you not to go if you do ask them. You can get unbiased advice from the tourist information centre at Penzance.

Get in[edit]

If you go there by car, be prepared to spend £5 for the parking area. If you want to avoid the parking fee to the complex you can walk from further afield. (about 1/2 a mile, medium rough terrain).

You can also park your car in Sennen Cove, close to Land's End and walk from there, enjoying the walk along the coast path.

There is also a regular bus schedule between Penzance and Land's End (one bus hourly daytime, except on Sundays: schedules may vary in winter). Buses depart from the central bus station in Penzance. Local tour operators in Penzance offer tours covering the whole peninsula including Land's End.

Get around[edit]

Map of Land's End

The whole area can be easily accessed on foot. Take care with clothing, because Land's End can be a rough, windy place due to its exposed location and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. Sturdy warm clothing and solid footwear is recommended, even in the summer months it is advisable to take note of the weather.

Land's End Airport[edit]

House In Lands End Osrs

  • 1Land's End Airport (LEQ IATA) (is situated close to Land's End itself). The airport enjoys a spectacular setting overlooking the dramatic Cornish coast offering a welcome relief to the bustle of ‘up-country’ life. Within the immediate vicinity are several tourist attractions, scenic walks and plentiful accommodation. The South West Coastal Footpath is adjacent to the airport and leads to many stunning beaches including Sennen Cove and Porthcurno.

Land's End Airport offers a great range of activities including:

  • Scenic Flights
  • Banner Towing
  • Aerial Photography
  • Pilot Training, Trial Lessons and Flying School
  • Skybus flights to the Isles of Scilly (ISC IATA)

See[edit]

  • 1Land's End Visitor's Centre, Sennen, TR19 7AA, ☏+44 871 720 0044.

Do[edit]

  • There is a complex of attractions on the site. A professional photographer takes photos of you in front of the signpost showing your hometown's distance (see photo above). He will charge you around £10 for the photos. There is a fence around the signpost, but you can, and many people do, just take their own photos standing in front of the fence.
  • Go to John O'Groats! The Land's End-to-John O'Groats (or vice versa) journey has been undertaken by many individuals as a personal challenge and to raise funds for good causes. It is often undertaken on foot or by bicycle to raise funds. Ian Botham, the former England cricketer, popularised the journey in 1985 when raising funds for charity.
  • Walk east along the coast to the first promontory. The sea arch is visible along with the extraordinary rock formations in this area (weathered Granite). The coast path continues on to Porthgwarra past various coves, many caves, another sea arch and possibly some of the most dramatic coastline in the entire UK. An extended walk will reach Porthcurno where there is a bus service.
  • 1Sennen Cove and beach. Those not wishing to walk the length of Great Britain, may alternatively prefer a walk on the clifftop to Sennen Cove and enjoy the spectacular sea views. Nearby car park - very busy during the summer.
  • 2Gwenver beach (half a mile walk from the car park.). Great surfing beach.

Buy[edit]

The Complex has various souvenir shops offering a wide range of souvenirs and other items of interest, although these are significantly overpriced, you can sometimes find a good item there.

Eat[edit]

Land's End Hotel has a restaurant area which is open to non-residents as well. (see below)

Drink[edit]

  • There is a Bar at the Land's End Hotel.
  • 1First and Last Inn, Sennen, TR19 7AD, ☏+44 1736 871680. A few miles away from Land's End.

Sleep[edit]

  • 1Land's End Hotel (The Land's End), TR19 7AA, ☏+44 1736 871844. 60 seconds away from the signpost. Breakfast is included.£40-90 depending on time of the year and type of room.
  • 2Whitesand Backpackers, Sennen, TR19 7AR, ☏+44 1736 871776. Cool hostel in Sennen about 2 miles up the A30 from Land's End. Rooms and dorms. Good food, plus licensed bar.

Go next[edit]

If you wanted to see dramatic piece of unspoilt coastline, go 20 miles (32 km) along the coast to Lizard Point, Britain's most southerly point. The natural scenery is just as good (if not better), there's a great atmosphere, no entrance fee, and not too many people around. Lizard village has a couple of shops and pubs. Also consider Cape Cornwall - 5 miles (8 km) to the north, once thought to be the most westerly point, but modern maps proved this wrong!

  • John O'Groats - the opposite of Land's End, being at the northeastern tip of Scotland. For those who want to travel long distances without ever going on the Continent, travelling from Land's End to John O'Groats would be an interesting activity.
